How To Prevent DDoS Attacks

Depending on your particular device, there are different ways to connect to a wireless network.

When a DDoS attack occurs, your first step is to switch your IP address. You can do this either through the router’s configuration interface or by using a web browser and typing in the current IP address followed by your username and password.

Go to your network settings and see if a setting is dedicated to making changes to your public or static IP address; then make the change and click OK. If you’re experiencing an ongoing DDoS attack, this might help.

You may want to install a quality firewall to protect against future attacks. There are plenty of free ones, but if you’d prefer something more robust, check out some of the paid options.

The goal of a DDoS attack is usually to disrupt the victim’s ability to conduct normal online activities. For example, a DDoS attack could prevent someone from accessing their bank account or an e-commerce site from processing payments. The attacker behind a DDoS attack doesn’t necessarily want to steal money; they just want to cause enough chaos to make the victim go away.
